Lift Engineer – Service & Call-Out (1 in 4)

Local patch | Growing independent business | £40,000+ negotiable + overtime + call-out payments

Elevator pitch

If you’re a Lift Engineer who wants more than just another service route and another set of keys, this is your chance to step into a role that genuinely values engineers, invests in their growth, and gives you a patch you can actually manage.

This is a Lift Engineer opportunity with a progressive, well-established independent company where your experience, ideas and pride in your work genuinely matter. Realistic workloads. Straight-talking management. Proper engineering culture.

If you’re a Lift Engineer who still takes pride in fault-finding, customer service and doing the job right, you’re going to want to read on.

The Opportunity

Most Lift Engineer jobs talk about stability. This one actually delivers it – while still giving you room to grow.

You’ll be joining a business that is expanding steadily across North London through to Milton Keynes, with a loyal service portfolio, long-standing clients, and an engineering-led leadership team that understands what life is really like on the tools.

This Lift Engineer role gives you the best of both worlds – the security of a strong service base, with the energy of a growing company where engineers are respected, listened to, and supported.

Here, being a Lift Engineer isn’t about being rushed from job to job or firefighting chaos. It’s about working on a varied lift portfolio, sharpening your fault-finding skills, building strong site relationships, and having the space to do proper engineering.

* A genuinely manageable local patch
* A supportive, experienced engineering team around you
* Clear planning, realistic workloads and sensible call-out expectations
* Ongoing exposure to a diverse range of passenger lifts and platform lifts
* A company that is proud of its reputation and wants you to be proud to wear the logo

This isn’t just a job. For the right Lift Engineer, this is a long‑term home where you can build stability, confidence, mastery and career progression.

About the role

As a Lift Engineer within the service team, you’ll enjoy working across a varied portfolio of commercial and residential sites, carrying out planned maintenance and attending reactive call‑outs.

There will be plenty of opportunity to utilise your fault‑finding skills, technical judgement and customer‑facing experience as you diagnose issues, keep lifts running safely, and support the wider engineering team with minor repairs and small works.

You’ll be part of a 1 in 4 call‑out rota, supported by engineers who know the patch, know the equipment and back each other up. This is a collaborative environment where knowledge is shared and engineers are trusted to do what they do best.

* NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Lift Engineering
* Solid experience in lift servicing and fault‑finding
* Confidence attending breakdowns and call‑outs
* Full UK driving licence
* Professional pride in your work and how you represent your company
* Experience with platform lifts
* Background working across mixed residential and commercial portfolios
* Engineers who enjoy mentoring, improving sites and building long‑term client trust

About the company

This is a growing, well-established independent lift company serving clients from North London, across to Bristol and up to the West Midlands.

The business has built its reputation on engineering quality, reliability and straight‑talking service. Growth has been driven by long‑term customer relationships, not short‑term contracts. Engineers are valued as the heart of the business, not treated as numbers.

You’ll be joining a company that invests in its people, plans its growth properly, and is proud of the culture it is building.
