Position Role: The 51X Master Driver is the Subject Matter Expert and Single Point of Contact for A&I, and oversees Driver Training for all units based in Scotland. (Not only overseas training). They also have a critical role in supporting UK Ops through designing and co-ordinating all movement plans as well as providing technical advice on all transport matters including Road Safety Legislation and HAZMAT. The Master Driver ensures that all activities are conducted in accordance with regulatory and legal responsibilities. This is 'no fail activity' that carries significant Risk to Life, Mission and Reputation. Responsibilities: 1. Advisor to the Commander on road safety, licensing and driver training and is responsible for providing technical advice on all transport matter. 2. Assist, advise and instruct JMC units on the management of military road transport in accordance with Defence Road Transport Regulations. 3. Assist, advise and instruct JMC units on Driver Training and Testing, including the use and provision of CDT and training for overseas areas. 4. Responsible, in conjunction with SO2 Log Sp, for formulating JMC Road Safety Policy including accident prevention and driving schemes and awards. 5. Analysis of Road Traffic Accident and Incident statistics/documentation for the JMC Commander and the making of recommendations to units including print outs from IMPACT Data Cell and identify trends and make recommendations for remedial action. 6. Technical input on Transport Management and Road Safety Legislation changes to MOD Policy. Technical advice on HAZMAT matters. 7. BPT SUPPORT projects and DELIVER as directed by the CofC.
