Job Title: Attendance Officer
Location: Sheffield
Pay rate: £460 - £600 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated Attendance Officer to join a supportive school in Sheffield. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented and passionate about improving student attendance and engagement.
As an Attendance Officer, you will play a key role in monitoring and improving school attendance. You will work closely with students, parents, and staff to identify barriers to attendance and support strategies to improve it. The successful candidate will be professional, approachable, and confident in handling sensitive situations.
Prime Responsibilities:
* Monitor and record daily student attendance accurately
* Follow up on absences and lateness with parents and carers
* Identify attendance patterns and highlight concerns
* Work with staff to implement strategies to improve attendance
* Maintain accurate records and produce attendance reports
* Support safeguarding procedures related to attendance
* Build positive relationships with students and families
Requirements of Attendance Officer:
* Experience in an administrative or school-based role (attendance experience desirable)
* Strong organisational and data management skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
* A proactive and solution-focused approach
* An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
* An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
