Senior Legal Counsel – Renewable Energy (BESS & Solar)

We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and skilled Senior Legal Counsel to join our international client, with a focus on solar & BESS projects.
As Senior Legal Counsel, you will work alongside a collaborative team of legal and commercial specialists, partnering closely with project, procurement, and operations teams to deliver tailored legal solutions that enable successful development, financing, and operation of renewable energy assets.
The Role:
* Provide legal advice for complex, international construction and infrastructure projects with a focus on solar and BESS markets
* Draft, negotiate, and advise on a wide range of project contracts, including EPC, O&M, framework agreements, technology supply, and long-term service agreements
* Act as the first point of contact for legal support on BESS and solar projects, coordinating internal and external counsel and managing legal risks effectively
* Advise senior management on project-related risks, claims, and disputes
* Contribute to standardisation initiatives and process improvements across contracts and legal workflows
* Develop bespoke, pragmatic solutions for unique project and market challenges
Requirements:
* Fully qualified lawyer with strong academic background; additional legal qualifications (e.g. LL.M, PhD) a bonus
* Significant experience as a lawyer or in-house counsel in energy, infrastructure, or large-scale construction projects
* Proven track record in solar, BESS or wider renewable energy projects, ideally internationally
* Ability to balance commercial priorities with robust legal risk management
* Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills
* A collaborative, open, and solution-oriented mindset, able to thrive in a dynamic and evolving environment
