Chief Financial Officer Education Trust Gloucester £70-75k Outstanding Benefits (22.6% Pension) About You As CFO, you will lead the financial strategy of the Trust, ensuring long-term financial sustainability and compliance. You will work closely with the CEO, Trustees, and school leaders to develop innovative solutions that enable us to deliver on our mission. Your expertise will drive financial planning, risk management, and resource allocation, supporting our vision of improving outcomes and opportunities for all children and young people. The Role Develop and deliver the Trusts financial strategy in line with its strategic goals. Provide expert advice to the CEO and Trustees on financial matters, including compliance with the DfE and charity regulations. Knowledge or understanding of academy trust funding. Lead financial planning, budgeting, and reporting to ensure transparency and accountability. Oversee the finance team and ensure robust internal controls and processes. Work with school leaders to maximise the effective use of resources to improve outcomes. Key Accountabilities Develop and implement the Trusts financial strategy aligned to its overarching Strategic Plan. Advise the CEO and Trustees on financial risks, opportunities, and compliance with DfE guidance, the Academies Trust Handbook, and charity law. Lead all aspects of financial management including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and audit processes. Ensure robust systems of financial governance and control across the Trust. Lead, develop, and manage the Finance Team to deliver high-quality financial services. Work in partnership with school leaders to support financial decision-making at school level. Engage with external stakeholders including auditors and other professional bodies. e.g. The DfE and Local Authority. Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, funding agreements, and financial best practices. Lead risk management processes for financial sustainability.
