Role Overview
As an Engineering Lecturer, your primary goal will be to inspire and educate future engineers through engaging instruction, curriculum development, and student mentorship. Responsibilities include delivering lessons, assessing progress, fostering practical skills, and staying current in your field through CPD. Collaboration with industry partners and contribution to departmental initiatives are also key. The role involves balancing theoretical and practical learning to prepare students for successful engineering careers.
Work Location
The new Engineering & Renewable Technologies Centre at Rhyl campus, a state-of-the-art facility supporting education in mechanical, maintenance, electronics, electrical, renewable energy, additive manufacturing, and digital transformation sectors. The centre features over £2m of specialised equipment, including CAD/CAM suites, a 3D lab, CNC workshops, and laboratories for electronics, robotics, VR, and AR. You will be involved with industry-specific training, including wind turbine technician apprenticeships and renewable energy skills competitions.
Terms and Conditions
* Working hours: 37 hours/week, with 24-26 hours of teaching and up to 5 hours off-site work.
* Pension Scheme: Teachers Pension Scheme.
* Annual Leave: 46 days plus public holidays and up to 5 closure days annually.
