Job Title: Housing Management & Compliance Coordinator
Reports to: Youth Services Manager
Salary: Scale 6, Points 26-28, £26,229 - £27,982 per annum, pro rata
Hours of work: Full Time (37.5 hours per week)
Fixed Term Contract: 12 months
Key Responsibilities:
* Enable young people to sustain their tenancy and take responsibility for their property.
* Empower young people to report repairs and maintain cleanliness.
* Assist young people in maximizing and retaining their income.
* Ensure voids meet lettable standards before letting, including cleaning and repairs.
* Support young people in paying rent and service charges.
* Assist with debt management or refer to specialists as needed.
* Prepare weekly arrears reports for the Manager, detailing actions taken.
* Safeguard the welfare of young people.
* Record rent and payments in line with procedures.
* Inform support staff of any needs or concerns of young people.
* Assist with benefit claims, including completion and submission of forms.
* Arrange and conduct admissions visits and inductions for new residents.
* Support young people in maintaining their accommodation.
* Perform administrative tasks such as recording payments, health and safety inspections, etc.
* Contribute to initiatives that support young people and organizational income.
* Work with support staff on tenancy breaches according to policy.
Be flexible to provide out-of-hours on-call support across services, offering advice, guidance, and emergency cover as needed.
Leading the Team:
* Contribute to developing a cohesive and effective team.
* Assist in induction, supervision, and performance management of staff, volunteers, and trainees.
* Provide cover for colleagues and participate in on-call duties, including working anti-social hours on a rota.
* Lead and participate in team meetings.
* Report concerns or service gaps to management.
* Deputise for the Youth Services Manager when appropriate.
* Monitor service delivery, identify improvements, and report findings.
* Support colleagues with respect and professionalism.
Qualifications:
Essential:
* Housing Management qualification
* NVQ 4 Advice & Guidance, Care or equivalent, or working towards Youth Work, Social Work, or equivalent
Experience:
Essential:
* Experience working with young people in settings such as Youth Work, Residential, Social Work, Probation, Community Work, Education, or Housing.
Desirable:
* Experience working with volunteers or students.
