JOB TITLE: SECTION ENGINEER

GRAHAM has a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, complex projects and is now looking for an experienced Section Engineer to join our Civil Engineering team in Liverpool.

If you have a strong background in civil engineering, ideally within roadworks, and previous experience in a similar Section Engineer role, we would love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage subcontractors and site operations to meet project deadlines
2. Review drawings, quantities, and schedule materials
3. Liaise with consultants and subcontractors
4. Monitor site labour and ensure HSE compliance
5. Maintain quality records and resolve technical issues
6. Conduct material testing and instrument calibration
7. Keep a detailed site diary and support the wider site team
8. Drive innovation and continuous improvement
9. Support the Project Manager with construction delivery
Essential Criteria:
10. Extensive background in Civil Engineering
11. Proven experience in a Section Engineer role - ideally roadworks
12. CSR/SAFEPASS/CSCS card
13. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
14. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
15. Experience supervising subcontractors and managing site operations
16. Strong problem-solving and planning abilities
17. Willingness to travel or stay away from home if required
Desirable Criteria:
18. Familiarity with testing and calibration of site instruments
19. Knowledge of procurement processes and material scheduling
20. Experience liaising with consultants and multidisciplinary teams
21. Awareness of Lean construction principles or continuous improvement initiatives
