Overview
An incredibly rare opportunity has been created to appoint a Senior MEP professional to step in as an MEP Project Director / MEP Contracts Director. This genuinely stable, dynamic successful organisation specialise in Mechanical and Electrical installations up to an industrial level. We seek those who have an industrial M&E / MEP background to qualify for this role. Crucial to the success of the role are those with Hospitals / Healthcare, M&E installations and refurbishment experience. Whilst we would like to see a multi-skilled split, we will give serious considerations to those with either an electrical or mechanical bias, just as long as you have proven experience in the management of both. The location of the appointment will be in Kettering.
You will be a highly experienced and professional character, equipped with an already impressive track record and background in Mechanical & Electrical Services / M&E / Building Services, capable and proven to take ownership of schemes valued in the multi millions. Being very much client side, you will be approachable and mannered with integrity, whilst you will also be a strong leader capable of managing multidisciplinary teams. Your commercial acumen will be first class, with a finger on the pulse in depth knowledge of UK building regulations, MEP systems and construction methodologies as you would expect at this level.
Responsibilities
* Take ownership of MEP schemes (multi‑million value) from conception through delivery as an MEP Project Director / MEP Contracts Director.
* Lead and mentor Project Managers and support staff; liaise with Consultants, sub‑contractors and specialist engineers.
* Oversee procurement, drive commercial performance, cost control, technical elements, safety, risk management and quality standards.
* Ensure compliance with UK building regulations and construction methodologies relevant to MEP systems.
* Operate in a client‑facing role with professionalism, integrity and strong leadership across multidisciplinary teams.
* Maintain a strong commercial acumen and manage relationships with stakeholders to secure project success.
* Contribute to project planning, risk assessment and delivery strategy for hospital/healthcare M&E projects and refurbishments.
Qualifications and Experience
* Industrial M&E / MEP background with proven management of both electrical and mechanical streams.
* Experience in hospitals/healthcare environments, M&E installations and refurbishments.
* Track record of leading complex projects with multi‑million pound values.
* Strong knowledge of UK building regulations, MEP systems and construction methodologies.
* Experience mentoring and developing Project Managers and cross‑functional teams.
* Client‑side, stakeholder management and a collaborative, professional approach.
* Location: Kettering or willing to operate from there, with suitable availability to manage projects.
