The Council is seeking to recruit two solicitors to join the in-house Legal team on a permanent basis. The successful candidates will primarily work as part of the property and contracts team, undertaking a broad range of legal work including research, advice provision, and negotiation and conclusion of legal agreements across various Council service areas, with a focus on planning, housing, estates, and roads. They will also serve as legal advisers on regulatory committees.
Applicants should have a current practising certificate and demonstrate the ability to research and deliver high-quality, practical, and timely legal advice professionally while managing a broad caseload and prioritising work effectively. Previous experience in property transactions is essential. Candidates should possess strong written and oral communication skills and be capable of developing and maintaining positive relationships with team members, officers, elected members, and the public.
