The Role
Head of Operations is a critical hire, and its impact will enable the business to continue scaling a lean and agile operation, fuelling our ambitions to be the leading global homewares brand.
As a valued member of the senior leadership team and working directly with the Founder and the CEO, you will take full responsibility for the end-to-end operations function, strategy and budget to drive excellence in customer experience whilst maintaining operational efficiency.
The ideal candidate will have a mindset for continuous improvement with the goal to achieve best-in-class standards.
* Accountable for the operational budget on freight and all associated costs to our cost to serve including 3PL, warehouse and sales lines such as returns
* Deliver operational KPIs, focusing on service metrics, quality, and resource planning to deliver the right margin
* Develop and implement robust logistics and distribution processes and strategies to deliver our beautiful products to our customers and develop freight solutions as we expand into new categories.
* Provide leadership and direction for the warehousing and customer service teams on best practice methodologies and ways of working to continuously improve how we operate
* Provide excellence in management of our the commercial relationships across our USA 3PL, freight and technology providers and any other partners to drive the best business outcomes for the customer
* Own the integration of our systems between functions ensuring they deliver to the needs of every part of the business and drive efficiencies through the use of automation in our operations to allow us to scale.
* Own the data accuracy and visibility of all stock movement from order through to delivery to the customer
* Drive an improvement culture, innovating and developing operational processes and systems
* Work cross-functionally with upstream supply chain to deliver best-in-class service to customers and consumers whilst optimising inventory
Requirements
* You are an innovative strategist capable of developing new processes, systems and initiatives
* An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills
* You’re comfortable with managing and developing people
* You understand the commercial landscape of the USA region
* Experience at Distribution Centres, 3PL management
* Experience operating and reporting at a senior management level
* Experience in delivering, leading and scaling operations in a hyper scaleup physical/digital, DTC environment
* Experience of project management of integrated tech infrastructure and enjoyment of making systems sing together!
* Strategic problem solver – always looking for improvements in operational efficiency
* Analytical and data-driven; you love to back up your decisions with hard facts, stats and numbers
* Project management skills such as leading developing new freight solutions or stock relocation projects preferred
* Commercial management skills being able to conduct analysis, identify marginal gains and lead tenders and commercial negotiations.
* In-depth knowledge in building a strategic roadmap for a logistics function including capabilities, systemic solutions and organisational design
* Preferred: experience with BrightPearl and /or Deposco
