PHL UK Ltd is one of Europe's leading forklift suppliers. From our busy site in Basingstoke, we prepare and sell towards 1,000 forklifts every year to customers across the UK and around the world. Our business has a very quick pace, and we are now looking for an experienced and motivated Service and Parts Manager to lead our field service team and the flow of spare parts.
The Role
As a Service and Parts Manager, you will oversee the smooth running of both the Service and Parts departments. You will manage a small but busy team, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Your role will combine hands-on management with customer service and supplier communication.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the Service department, including scheduling jobs, reviewing job sheets, organising training, and supporting engineers with the coordinator.
* Oversee Parts operations, coordinating the advisor and warehouse operative, and streamlining processes.
* Work closely with customers, dealers, and suppliers, ensuring excellent communication and service.
* Provide technical support to customers and engineers via phone, email, and digital platforms.
* Assist with warranty claims and ensure correct documentation is processed.
* Liaise with operations, subcontractors and transport to plan installations and deliveries.
* Support the development of new systems, including ERP software.
* Step in to cover other management responsibilities when required.
About You
* Good background in service or parts management, ideally within forklifts, plant machinery, or similar equipment.
* Confident leading a team and improving processes.
* Good organisational and communication skills.
* Technical knowledge of forklifts or heavy equipment (desirable).
* Comfortable working with customers and suppliers at all levels.
