Job Overview
We are recruiting an experienced and motivated Mobile LCV Technician to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maximising fleet uptime by delivering high-quality mobile servicing, preventative maintenance and rapid breakdown response for Light Commercial Vehicles (up to 3.5 tonnes) across Greater Belfast/Northern Ireland. The role bridges the gap between emergency roadside rescue and scheduled corporate fleet maintenance directly at customer business premises.
Key Responsibilities
* LCV Diagnostics: Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults on major commercial van brands like Mercedes-Benz Sprinters, Ford Transits
* Vehicle Security Systems: electrical knowledge would be an advantage; Full training to be given in Marchington GB
* Mobile Fleet Servicing: Perform routine scheduled maintenance, vehicle inspections, and minor defect repairs on-site to limit customer inconvenience.
* Pre-MOT Inspections: Prepare commercial vans for rigorous Northern Ireland MOT/PSV testing standards directly from the mobile service unit.
* Warranty Compliance: Accurately complete digital job cards, parts logging, and service sheets via cloud-based online systems in line with strict manufacturer fleet protocols.
* ADAS Calibration: Calibrate Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) commonly integrated into modern commercial delivery fleets.
Skills and Qualifications
* Technical Certifications: Strictly requires an NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds Level 3 in Light Vehicle/Commercial Maintenance and Repair.
* Specialised Experience: Minimum 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience specifically working in a commercial workshop or mobile LCV fleet environment.
* Licence Requirements: A full UK Category C driving licence
* Business Acumen: Strong communication skills to liaise directly with corporate fleet managers, giving clear technical advice on "repair vs. recovery" choices.
Work Environment and Remuneration
* Base Location: Field-based role starting and finishing directly from your home driveway in a fully equipped, modern service van.
* Mon – Sun Operation – 40hrs per week, Company van (business miles only)
* Salary Range: £36,000 to £45,000 depending on experience, with OTE reaching £44,000 to £58,000 through call-out allowances, performance bonuses and paid overtime.
