This individual will report to the Senior Director of Pipeline Project Management and will be accountable, in collaboration with the Asset Development Project Leader, for the integration and management of one or more cross‑functional project teams to plan and achieve key strategic objectives and development milestones.

At GSK, Pipeline Project Managers (PPMs) compose a community of pharmaceutical asset development experts applying industry‑leading project‑management practices to strategically plan and tactically deliver projects with industry‑leading performance.

The PPM will act as the chief operating officer (COO) of the asset and will serve as a core team member driving the efficient operation of project teams including overall plans, priorities, budget, and risk management without compromising quality or safety.

In this role you will:

* Facilitate and/or contribute to asset strategy and evidence strategy, and lead development of the integrated project plan to ensure feasibility and alignment with therapeutic area strategy, prioritization, and pipeline performance objectives.
* Own the single integrated plan that builds team commitment to shared goals with schedules and budgets based on clear dependencies and assumptions.
* Lead options planning, generate recommendations, alternatives, and trade‑offs to strengthen decision‑making and optimize the project strategy.
* Lead team preparation for governance decisions and own schedule, risk, and budget inputs.
* Identify opportunities to accelerate milestones by challenging constraints that impact critical path and near‑critical path activities.
* Orchestrate seamless handoffs with focus on the critical path through proactive project plan monitoring, risk management, and cross‑functional management of project issues with timely escalation to leadership as required.
* Ensure rigor, consistency, and compliance in established systems to drive timely, high‑quality data and reporting in and across projects.
* Build trusting relationships with the team and stakeholders to encourage transparency and collaboration.
* Use strong facilitation skills to lead regular project team meetings and apply consistent best practices for meeting agendas, actions, minutes, and other meeting documentation.
* Establish and sustain agreed‑upon ways of working for effective team communication, decisions, and conflict resolution.
* Actively promote GSK’s Code and values. Be inclusive, cultivate psychological safety, and ensure that all relevant voices are heard to strengthen outcomes and foster broad commitment.
* Work on any assignment as directed.

Basic Qualifications & Skills:

* Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant life sciences discipline (e.g. drug discovery & development, biology, biochemistry, immunology, pharmacology, toxicology, etc.)
* Substantial Pharmaceutical Drug Discovery/Pre‑Clinical and/or Early‑Phase Development project management experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech/contract research industry.
* Successful track record of delivering complex drug development projects within agreed time, cost, and quality – includes proven ability to develop, maintain, and report upon detailed/high‑quality integrated project plans within enterprise management systems (e.g. Planisware) including critical path timelines/milestones, external budgets, internal resource forecasts, and risk assessments.
* Ability to lead, integrate, influence, motivate, and inspire high‑performing cross functional matrix teams including the ability to create a shared sense of purpose, coach toward successful issue resolution and decision making, manage through conflict, and establish a culture of trust.
* Strong communication skills and the strong ability to convey complex information clearly and succinctly (written/verbal/presentation) – track record of employing and coordinating effective stakeholder management and developing executive‑level scientific/business case briefing presentations for governance interactions to enable funding, resourcing and strategic/operational project decisions (e.g. phase progressions/investment decisions/escalations).
* Demonstrated experience facilitating and documenting effective project team meetings.
* Highly driven and innovative spirit with ability to prioritize, organize and execute multiple activities in tandem.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Specific knowledge and experience in infectious disease (e.g. HIV and/or Infectious Diseases of Global Health Importance).
* Experience working within a pharmaceutical HIV and/or Global Health franchise.
* Advanced degree in a scientific discipline and/or MBA.
* Formal Project Management Training or Certification (e.g. Project Management Professional [PMP®] in good standing).
