About the Role
Active Outreach Services is seeking a Teaching Assistant / Support Worker to provide 1:1 mentoring and support for a Year 4 pupil with Autism who is currently attending school part-time. This is a rewarding opportunity to help a young person re-engage with learning and build confidence in school. You will support directly in the school near the Walton area in Peterborough time: pm.
The pupil currently attends the school just over 1 hour per day. They sometimes participate in activities such as football with the PE coach, but can experience anxiety being around peers and needs patient encouragement to feel settled and supported.
Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 support and encouragement during school attendance.
* Help the student to engage in activities, build confidence, and feel secure.
* Work alongside school staff to provide consistency and reassurance.
* Maintain professional boundaries and safeguarding responsibilities at all times.
Requirements:
* Experience working with children/young people with SEMH, anxiety, or autism.
* A calm, patient, and resilient approach.
* Strong ability to build trust and rapport.
* Enhanced DBS or on Update Service
