We are looking for Social Work Assistants to join the Children in Care Teams - To support Social Workers who safeguard and promote the welfare of the most vulnerable children and young people in the City through the delivery of high quality service. You will have a variety of work in this role such as, supporting young people to keep in touch with their families, working closely with children and young people to undertake direct work and build trusting relationships and to work closely with other agencies working with families you are supporting.

Every employee from Family Support and Social Workers to Finance and Legal, work together to make a positive difference to children, young people and families. We are one team, and each have an important role to play in achieving the Trusts objectives. Birmingham Children’s Trust Leadership team comprises of six Executive Directors who are responsible for leading and managing the Trust to be an autonomous and high performing organisation
We have been rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted, following a 2023 inspection. This is a fantastic achievement for Birmingham Children's Trust, with many positive highlights focusing on areas including the quality of staff leadership, partnership working, safeguarding and corporate parenting.
This is a hybrid role based in Birmingham so you must reside within a suitable commutable distance around Birmingham and have the correct right-to-work documents to work in the UK. Sadly, we do not support those who require sponsorship.
About you:
Essential
* Experience of working with children and/or their families
* Working collaboratively with other agencies
* Passionate about working with children and young people to achieve positive outcomes.
Preferable
* A driver with knowledge of the Birmingham area.
* Ability to work professionally with people experiencing challenging personal circumstances
* Ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences through written, verbal and other means of communication.
