The Mission Systems business sector is recruiting for a Project Manager to support the CUAS & IR Imagers Portfolio and lead IPTs to deliver products, solutions and growth within the CUAS, Air Defence & IR Imagers military markets.
Responsibilities
* Lead relevant projects within the CUAS & IR Imagers Portfolio for successful delivery of products and integrated solutions.
* Support the portfolio and Mission Systems Sector by delivering customer output and product development projects.
* Provide awareness and visibility to key external and internal stakeholders covering delivery requirements for customer and internal development & stock order projects.
* Plan and manage team performance, project schedule, cost and adherence to quality parameters for each internal or external project.
* Ensure customer satisfaction is high and delivery meets time, cost, and quality objectives while supporting IPT growth for the Mission Systems Business Sector.
* Coordinate IPT activities by establishing communication mechanisms, meetings and reporting requirements.
* Manage work packages and resource profiles, implementing earned value management and contract compliance.
* Monitor and control all activities and costs, defining corrective actions for any deviations.
* Own ETC and forecast load activities.
* Collect and present project performance and IPT activities, represent the IPT at contract status reviews.
* Organise and coordinate internal Phase/Gate Reviews, customer reviews and supplier reviews, and manage resulting actions to closure.
* Conduct effective risk and opportunity management, tracking all risks and opportunities to closure.
* Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and the sub‑contractor management function.
* Work closely with Engineering to ensure technical project requirements are met on time, to quality and cost.
* Promote a culture of best practice sharing and knowledge exploitation within the IPT.
* Build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to maximize customer satisfaction.
* Accountable for delivering on financial commitments relevant to projects.
* Own delivery and performance of relevant projects.
Qualifications
* Demonstrable experience in a similar-level Project Management role or discipline.
* Experience covering most phases of the project execution lifecycle, including Business Winning Phases, across medium‑complexity projects or programmes involving engineering and manufacturing.
* Experience developing and maintaining customer/supplier relations.
* Awareness of related functions such as Commercial, Procurement and Quality Assurance.
* Experience in all aspects of project planning, scheduling, work package management and cost control.
* Experience managing multi‑million pound projects as the project lead.
* Ability to apply professional concepts creatively.
* Ability to influence and motivate project teams (direct or indirect).
* Knowledge and awareness of Leonardo product offerings.
