Overview
We are looking for a hands-on technical leader to guide our engineering team in building high-quality, scalable, and distributed software solutions. As the Team Lead - Software Engineering, you will combine technical expertise with leadership skills, driving engineering best practices, mentoring developers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful projects.
Responsibilities
* Software Development & Maintenance
o Build and maintain applications using Java 17/21, Spring Boot, AWS, and NoSQL databases.
o Design and implement scalable, distributed systems with strong performance, security, and maintainability standards.
* Leadership & Mentoring
o Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence.
o Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and enforce best coding practices.
* Performance & Quality
o Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks to ensure high system reliability.
o Drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure robust testing and quality assurance practices.
* Agile Delivery
o Work in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban), contributing to sprint planning, backlog refinement, and technical discussions.
o Collaborate with Product Managers, UX Designers, and DevOps Engineers to deliver features on time and to specification.
* DevOps & CI/CD
o Promote best practices in CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and DevOps methodologies.
o Work closely with cloud infrastructure teams to ensure smooth deployments and monitoring.
* Proven track record as a Technical Lead, Senior Developer, or Engineering Manager in complex software delivery environments.
* Strong hands-on experience with:
o Java 17/21, Spring Boot
o AWS Cloud Services
o NoSQL Databases (e.g., DynamoDB, MongoDB)
* Deep understanding of distributed system architecture, performance tuning, and secure coding practices.
* Solid knowledge of Agile development processes and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
* Excellent leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in public sector or large-scale enterprise environments.
* Exposure to containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architectures.
* Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
