An exciting opportunity for an experienced, ambitious, results-driven General Manager with Engineering Industry experience to make a real impact within a fast-growing, dynamic organization. Our client is one of the UKs leading engineering firms seeking a commercially driven, hands-on leader to shape the future of a key division within a thriving business. Reporting directly to the MD, you will manage a workforce of 100+ employees, providing strategic and operational leadership, effectively driving efficiencies, managing the full P&L, and ensuring all business and profitability targets are consistently achieved.
Responsibilities
1. Foster a high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement, accountability, and excellence in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
2. Manage 100+ employees, including oversight of recruitment, training and development, performance management, succession planning, and disciplinary procedures.
3. Ensure exceptional levels of customer satisfaction across all areas of the business through the delivery of high-quality service and operational excellence.
4. Control operational budgets, monitor financial performance, and ensure all business and profitability targets are consistently achieved.
5. Lead continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and implementing process enhancements to drive operational efficiency, productivity, and product quality.
6. Oversee all departmental functions to ensure alignment with company objectives and that performance targets are met or exceeded.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
* Extensive senior management experience within an engineering environment, ideally with a strong background in sheet metal, fabrication, and laser cutting operations.
* A demonstrable track record of driving business growth and delivering sustained profitability, with a strong commitment to customer service excellence.
* In-depth understanding of management profit and loss accounts, with the ability to make data-driven decisions that enhance financial performance and operational efficiency.
* Strong commercial and financial acumen, combined with a collaborative leadership style and the ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
* Proven ability to influence and build strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external customers, creating a competitive advantage in the marketplace.
* Energetic, confident, and hands-on leadership approach, with excellent communication skills and a natural ability to inspire those around you.
