About the Role As a Clinical Healthcare Support Worker in Cardiology, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our nursing teams to deliver outstanding patient care. You’ll begin with our “New to Care” induction programme, designed to help you settle into life at the Royal United Hospitals Bath. You’ll learn the essential skills needed for the role and work towards the Care Certificate (unless you have already completed it). Advert Healthcare Support Worker (HCSW) is a key member of the cardiac ward team, delivering high‑quality, compassionate care to adults with acute and chronic cardiac conditions. Working under the supervision of registered healthcare professionals, you will provide personal care, assist with clinical tasks, support patient monitoring, and help maintain a safe, effective ward environment. This is a busy role so you will be working together with your team to balance different tasks that often change. Your daily duties will be varied to include: · blood pressure monitoring · oxygen saturation levels · body temperature · pulse rate and respiration rate · glucose monitoring, · collection and testing of urine, faecal and sputum samples · wound swabs · removal of catheters · venepuncture · recording your actions accurately in patient notes Working as part of a team and on your own, you will draw from your knowledge, skills and experience. Adapting how you communicate to meet the needs of patients, relatives, carers as well as colleagues with kindness and compassion is fundamental to how we work together. You will take care in handling patient and Trust property and may need to order supplies and restock. You will help to support, train and welcome new colleagues, students and others to your area of work. There will be opportunities to develop your knowledge and skills, specific to your needs and area of work. Please note that this role currently does not meet the minimum salary threshold of £25,000 required for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship, as set by the UK Home Office effective from 9 April 2025. While higher pay points may be available depending on verified NHS experience, the majority of new appointments typically commence at the lower end of the pay band, which falls below the sponsorship threshold. As such, visa sponsorship may not be available for candidates who do not already have the right to work in the UK. Please note - Due to recent changes in UK immigration and visa rules applicants who do not currently have the right to work in the UK may not be considered unless an alternative right to work solution can be provided.
