Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Engineer – Mech/Steam/HTHW to join our team at HMP Swaleside, a Cat B Men's prison. Join a team that works Mon-Sun as a supportive and driven family, collaborating to create a safe and nurturing environment.
HMP Swaleside operates like a self-contained city, requiring hundreds of staff to keep it functioning. As part of the Facilities Maintenance Team, you will be crucial in ensuring smooth and safe operations, impacting prisoners, staff, visitors, and the wider community.
You will work alongside experienced colleagues including Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators, all dedicated to making a positive difference and providing a secure environment.

Requirements:
* At least two years’ experience as a steam boiler operator or similar role.
* Knowledge of Water Supply Regulations and Legionella L8 requirements.
* Familiarity with BG01 – safe operation of boilers.
* Experience with commercial or industrial steam, heating, and water systems.
* Plumber qualification to C&G 6035, C&G 6189, and NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
* BOAS accredited boiler operator course or equivalent.
* Strong Health & Safety knowledge.
* Excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
