Senior Dispensing Technical Officer – Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust
37.5 hours per week, worked over 7 days with rest days allocated for weekend working.

Overview
We are looking for a team member who has experience of supervising staff and working in a hospital or community pharmacy environment that we can develop. The post holder will be involved in the supervision of a team of Dispensing Pharmacy Assistants in the dispensary at The Royal Oldham Hospital.
Key responsibilities
* Supervise, train and support all dispensary staff and trainees, whilst maximising efficiency and accuracy in the dispensary.
* Supervise staff on a day to day basis, work accurately under pressure, have a good eye for detail, prioritise workload, meet deadlines and deliver a high standard of patient focused service.
* Participate in full dispensary duties.
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Pharmacy Services, or 4 GCSEs including English and Maths (grade C or above).
Knowledge, training and experience
* Hospital pharmacy experience
* Basic knowledge of COSHH and Health & Safety legislation
* Knowledge of Pharmacy services
* Teamworking experience
* Understanding of procurement, distribution and stock control systems
* Previous experience of stock control systems
* Supervisory experience
* Purchasing experience
* Organising daily tasks for the team
* Training and mentoring staff
Skills & abilities
* Good organisational and communication skills
* Numerical accuracy
* Able to work quickly and accurately under pressure
* Ability to work under own initiative
