Job Description
This role will report to the UK Business Development Director and will run the UK Tender Unit, providing key support across Transportation, Energy, Sustainable Cities, and Consulting & Operations. It will also coordinate activities of the six other European tender units, reporting to the Europe Chief Commercial Officer. Additionally, the role offers wider support to the UK Business Development Director's commercial activities.
The candidate will work with subject matter experts in the UK and globally to manage and lead technically and commercially attractive bids across various disciplines, from transportation to nuclear. The role provides excellent exposure to the wider Egis Group, UK businesses, and cross-functional teams, requiring personal credibility to develop successful professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, agile, and adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
The appointed individual must possess high self-motivation and confidence in managing teams while meeting stakeholder expectations. Main responsibilities include:
Tender Strategy Development
* Develop and implement comprehensive tender strategies to secure new business opportunities.
* Align tendering activities with the company’s growth objectives and strategic goals.
Tender Management & Coordination
* Manage and own the Egis Contract Acquisition P1 process and related deliverables.
* Oversee preparation, submission, and negotiation of engineering project tenders.
* Manage timelines, deliverables, and resources throughout the tender process.
* Ensure compliance with client requirements, industry standards, and company policies.
Team Leadership & Development
* Lead the bid coordination and development team.
* Assign responsibilities, provide guidance, and ensure team efficiency.
* Conduct training to improve skills in bid writing, technical documentation, and bid support.
* Implement and monitor tendering KPIs.
* Coordinate and communicate with other European tender units.
Stakeholder Engagement & Wider Commercial Support
* Collaborate with internal teams (technical, finance, legal) to gather inputs.
* Engage with clients, partners, and subcontractors to build relationships and clarify bid requirements.
* Manage the CRM process and sales pipeline KPI reporting.
* Support UK sales engagement activities.
* Assist the UK Business Development Director with reporting, presentations, and data analysis.
Risk Analysis
* Identify project risks and propose mitigation strategies.
Documentation & Quality Assurance
* Ensure tender documents are accurate, comprehensive, and aligned with client expectations.
* Maintain a database of past tenders, feedback, and lessons learned for continuous improvement.
Compliance & Legal Considerations
* Manage UK compliance with the Egis Contract Acquisition P1 process, including presentations to the Egis risk committee.
* Ensure tenders adhere to legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.
* Manage contract terms, conditions, and assess commercial risks.
Qualifications

* Technical understanding of engineering and project delivery.
* Proficiency in tender management software and tools.
* Experience working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
* Knowledge of procurement, contracts, and business development strategies.
* Technical proficiency with MS Office, bid management tools, and content management systems.
* Ability to leverage AI tools to improve bid efficiency.
Educational Background & Experience
* Degree-level education preferred but not essential.
* Proven success in securing major contracts and delivering tenders in engineering/construction sectors.
* Experience presenting to senior stakeholders.
* Extensive tendering experience (15+ years).
* Experience with MS Dynamics CRM and Oracle ERP software.
Location
* London – hybrid work (3 days in-office per week).
* Occasional travel to other Egis offices.
