Overview The Joint Advisory Group on GI Endoscopy (the JAG) wishes to appoint a chair of the National Endoscopy Database (NED) committee. JAG invites application from persons interested in taking up this important role in leading and shaping NED. The JAG is hosted by the Royal College of Physicians (RCP). The RCP is a patient-centred and clinically led organisation whose core mission is to improve patient care and reduce illness. Our vision is for everyone to have the best possible health and healthcare. The Care Quality Improvement Department supports the RCP’s strategic aim to improve care for patients. It utilises a variety of methods and approaches to drive improvements in activities, influences the quality of clinical practice via ambitious work programmes that are delivered via constituent teams. JAG aims to promote similar change and improvement in all endoscopy services, whilst also providing assurance to patients, managers, referrers, and commissioners about the service provided. The NED chair will work in partnership with the JAG programme manager (based at the Royal College of Physicians) to ensure the successful delivery of NED. Working with the JAG Programme Manager you will be responsible for the delivery of the NED project and leading its governance within JAG. You will oversee developments of NED, work with stakeholders to highlight benefits and maximise opportunities for investment and support of NED. The appointment will be for two years, renewable for a further year by agreement, and will be funded up to £12,000 per annum (up to 1PA), reimbursable to the post-holder’s employer.
