Job Opportunity: Young Person and Family Outreach Worker (CAMHS)

As part of our commitment to staff development and career progression within CAMHS, we invite applications for roles within the new CAMHS Enhanced Support and Liaison Team. This is an excellent opportunity for passionate, flexible, and enthusiastic individuals with the appropriate skills to join a new service.

The CAMHS Enhanced Support and Liaison Service seeks to recruit a Young Person and Family Outreach Worker to support young people in crisis at their homes and acute hospital sites across Dorset. This demanding yet rewarding role requires a flexible, hardworking approach to manage the demands of working within an Enhanced Support Service.

This is a full-time position with flexible working arrangements considered. The role involves some weekend and late/early shifts, managed through a rota. Candidates must have experience working therapeutically with children and young people with mental health presentations and their families, along with significant clinical mental health experience.

Employment in this role requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover. Applicants subscribed to the DBS update service can present a valid DBS certificate instead of a new check.

Responsibilities include:

1. Providing intensive, time-limited interventions to reduce mental health risk and distress, potentially preventing inpatient admissions.
2. Working within a multidisciplinary team to deliver therapeutic interventions for children and young people with complex, high-risk presentations.
3. Ensuring high standards of service delivery in line with Trust, social, and healthcare policies.

Applicants must hold a full UK Driving Licence.

Our services in Dorset are rated 'Good' and 'Outstanding' in inpatient care. We are part of innovative projects such as the Mental Health Support Teams in schools and the development of a new 8-bed PICU.

This is a fixed-term role. For current NHS staff, the position is offered on a secondment basis; prior approval is required.

At Dorset HealthCare, we aim to empower individuals through outstanding, integrated healthcare services. We are proud of our diverse, inclusive environment where everyone can thrive and make a difference.
