We are looking for an experienced Quality Technician to join an Oxford-based Start-up delivering a disruptive new generation of analytical instruments that weigh molecules with light. Job Title: Quality Inspector
Location: Oxford, UK
Salary: £DOE + Benefits including (7% Pension, Private Health Insurance, 25 days leave, bonus)
Role:
As a Quality Inspector you will be responsible for ensuring components are tested in accordance with standard operating procedures and H&S requirements, to show they meet defined quality standards. You will help to develop rigorous quality control procedures in support of our quality operation.
Responsibilities
* Inspection - To carry out inspection & testing of materials and components using a variety of processes/techniques in accordance with work instructions, drawings, specifications, and relevant quality procedures.
* Interpret - To accurately interpret component drawings and test procedures so that part numbers, drawing issues, product requirements and special process requirements can be correctly identified and applied.
* Reporting - To generate inspection reports/non-conformance reports in accordance with company quality policy.
* Record - To record all inspection and testing work in our systems.
* Handling - To handle materials carefully and comply with safety regulations so that components are not damaged, and accidents do not occur due to mishandling.
* Environment - To carry out work within clean rooms and controlled environments.
* Schedule - To complete work in accordance with required work schedules so that productivity can be maintained at the highest level.
* Personnel - To liaise with internal personnel, Quality Technicians and Quality Engineers
* Non-conformance - Management of non-conforming components and assemblies ready for disposition.
* Calibration - Supporting the administration of calibration management system.
* Support - To support the Quality Department and Manager in any other relevant quality tasks including but not limited to internal audits, preparation of procedures or assisting with investigations.
About you:
* Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering.
* Good standard of written English & Mathematics
* Experience of using inspection tools such as Verniers and Micrometers.
* Experience of using visual inspection equipment.
* Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.
* Experience of using a Coordinate Measuring Machine such as Keyence.
* Basic computer skills such as Microsoft word and Excel.
