Intermediate / Senior Mechanical Estimator
We are working with a well-established and highly respected building services contractor to appoint an Intermediate / Senior Mechanical Estimator as part of their continued growth. This is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Estimator looking to work on technically challenging, high-value projects across commercial, fit-out, refurbishment and critical environments.
The Role
As a Mechanical Estimator, you will play a key role in pricing mechanical packages from initial enquiry through to final tender submission. The successful Mechanical Estimator will work closely with commercial, design and delivery teams to ensure all tenders are accurate, competitive and commercially robust. This role would suit an experienced Mechanical Estimator or a strong Intermediate Mechanical Estimator ready to step up.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare detailed and accurate tenders as a Mechanical Estimator, including labour, materials, plant and preliminaries
* Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation to develop compliant mechanical estimates
* Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations as part of the Mechanical Estimator function
* Identify risks, opportunities and value-engineering options within mechanical tenders
* Produce tender clarifications, assumptions and commercial summaries
* Support post-tender interviews and negotiations alongside senior stakeholders
* Assist with handover from estimating to project delivery
About You
* Proven experience working as a Mechanical Estimator within building services / MEP contracting
* Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems including HVAC, pipework and plant
* Commercially astute with excellent attention to detail
* Confident working on multiple tenders to tight deadlines
* Comfortable liaising with clients, suppliers and internal teams
