The Role Produce detailed 2D and 3D drawings and specifications using SolidWorks and AutoCAD for company products, including conveyors, structural steel, and ancillary equipment.Create and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) within the company ERP system.Ensure drawing quality, continuity, and compliance with relevant directives.Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and sales teams to ensure designs meet business requirements.Review and improve existing designs, including site visits to assess installed products.Lead projects effectively, providing engineering support and mentoring team members.Carry out cost analysis for new projects and ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation.
The Requirements Previous experience as a Design or Project Engineer within structural steel or similar industries (essential).Ability to read and create technical drawings and specifications (essential).Proficiency in SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD (advantageous).Background in steel fabrication and sheet metal work (advantageous).Relevant qualifications in design engineering (HNC or equivalent preferred).Strong organisational skills, creativity, and ability to work as part of a team.
