ORKNEY HEALTH AND CARE
Care at Home
Assistant Social Care Co-ordinator
32.5 hours per week, Shift working over 7 days
Permanent
£36,282 - £38,829 pro rata / £18.81 - £20.13 per hour (including shift allowance and Distant Islands Allowance)

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our small office team based in Kirkwall. As an Assistant Social Care Co-ordinator (ASCC) you will play a vital role in the provision of Care at Home services on Orkney Mainland and throughout the Isles. You will support our small geographically based teams to ensure the delivery of a high-quality Care at Home service to people who use our services.


Responsibilities

* Implement and coordinate high quality support packages
* Keep up to date with current best practice and legislation
* Demonstrate proven organisation and communication skills
* Adapt and work flexibly in a constantly pressured environment


Qualifications and experience

* An SVQ 3 in Social Services and Health Care or HNC in Social Care or other relevant practice qualification to allow registration with the SSSC as a Supervisor in a Care at Home Service
* OR a supervisory or management qualification at SCQF level 7 or above to allow registration with the SSSC as a supervisor in a Care at Home Service or achieve this qualification within 5 years of appointment
* OR a minimum of 3 years previous relevant experience as detailed in the experience section of the person specification in the Assistant Social Care Co-ordinator job description AND the requirement to achieve the two required qualifications within 3 years
* You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service
* This post is subject to Level 2 Disclosure Check with PVG for working in a regulated role with protected adults
