4296 - Practice Educator Magnetic Resonance Imaging
We are seeking a highly motivated radiographer with a strong background in MRI and a commitment to teaching and learning at the heart of their practice. This role focuses primarily on practice education and development within MRI, supporting existing radiographers, trainee assistant practitioners, and clinical students.
In addition to educational responsibilities, you will take on team leader duties, providing day-to-day leadership and support to the MRI team. You will foster a positive working environment, promote effective communication, and support staff wellbeing, helping to drive service excellence and team cohesion.

You will possess DCR (R) or BSc Radiography with current HCPC registration and have previous NHS experience.
Our Medical Imaging Department operates three MRI scanners across two sites: two Siemens scanners at the main Trust site and a Philips scanner at the Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC).

Main duties of the job
As the MRI Practice Educator, you will be a role model and leader for all staff groups, demonstrating a professional and proactive approach in MRI clinical practice. You will provide expert advice, guidance, and support to staff at all levels, helping them develop confidence and competence in MRI.
Working collaboratively with senior clinical colleagues, including joining a Band 7 leadership team, you will actively participate in service improvement initiatives by facilitating understanding of evidence-based practice and management principles. You will support colleagues in their roles as educators and mentors, applying your specialist MRI knowledge across a variety of clinical and educational settings.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Providing leadership in the development and delivery of education programmes for radiographers, trainee assistant practitioners, and clinical students, including training in specific MRI skills and techniques.
* Acting as a clinical and educational leader by offering high-quality mentorship and support to enhance staff development and clinical confidence.
* Leading and contributing to projects aimed at streamlining MRI practice processes, ensuring departmental policies are current and effectively implemented through a systematic approach.
* Promoting and embedding evidence-based practice and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and service delivery.

Qualifications
* Registered Radiographer- Valid HCPC Registration

* Undertaken education at Masters Level and willingness to work towards and complete a full masters (FHEQ level 7/SCQF level 11)
* Accreditation with College of Radiographers Practice Educator Accreditation Scheme
