About Our School
At Lyttelton House School, located in the heart of Andover, we provide a safe and supportive environment for up to 60 pupils aged 5 to 16 with complex needs. Your Role and Responsibilities
* Enhance wellbeing, readiness for learning, resilience, and behaviour management at Lyttelton House School.
* Collaborate with the Education Team to support young people's personal and academic development by removing barriers to learning.
* Encourage positive learning behaviours among students.
* Lead classes during PPA and absence cover, with planning support from teaching staff.
* Deliver engaging enrichment activities during 'Golden Time'.
* Provide in-class support for academic, pastoral, emotional, or behavioural needs.
* Address immediate concerns, clarifying and resolving situations effectively.
* Create and compile information related to lessons and interventions.
* Assist in preparing information for meetings regarding pupils.
* Act as an advocate for the ethos of Lyttelton House School.
* Lead on Reading and Phonics, tracking progress made by students.
* Develop the Pupil Voice initiative, collaborating with the Senior Leadership Team on the Pupil Council.
* Build strong relationships with parents/carers, actively participating in transitions and consultations.
What We’re Looking For
* A strong educational background, with at least GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics, along with solid IT skills.
* Previous experience in a similar role (e.g., HLTA).
* Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting.
* Confidence to take on additional responsibilities in specific areas (e.g., Food Hygiene, Forest School, Lunchtimes, School Yoga, etc.).
* Experience in behaviour management and related techniques.
