This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to an ambitious and well-supported transformation of Somerset’s stroke services, including the launch of a brand-new Somerset-wide Hyperacute Stroke Unit (HASU) at Musgrove Park Hospital in 2026. You’ll work alongside a collaborative team of 6 consultants and 4 specialty doctors, with strong support from specialist nurses, ACPs, therapists, and a progressive management structure. Our stroke service delivers: 24/7 thrombolysis and access to thrombectomy at Bristol Southmead via AGWS telemedicine Daily HASU and weekday ASU consultant-led ward rounds 7-day TIA clinics and comprehensive outpatient services Dedicated stroke rehabilitation units and an award-winning Early Supported Discharge (ESD) service A robust research portfolio with support from stroke research nurses This is more than a job, it’s your chance to join a service delivering top-tier outcomes in the SSNAP audit and help shape future services in an integrated, forward-thinking Trust. Our vision is underpinned by investment: £15 million into Yeovil District Hospital, a new surgical centre at Musgrove Park, and a new MRI and CT-perfusion service aligned to GIRFT recommendations.
