Join Trinity Fire & Security Systems – Part of the PTSG Group. We are looking for a confident and capable CAD professional to join our team to design fire and security system solutions for high‑profile clients and projects.
About the role
This role is not just about design in isolation – you will work closely with engineers and project stakeholders, participate in project decisions, and contribute to a collaborative team that thrives on shared success from early design stages through installation and ongoing support.
The position is full‑time, permanent, and operates from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday. It can be based from our Exeter office (EX5 1AU), our Abingdon office (OX14 1RL), or alternatively from home.
What you'll be doing
* Producing high‑quality CAD drawings (primarily 2D) using AutoCAD.
* Managing drawing production across the full lifecycle of each project.
* Coordinating with engineers and project teams to ensure buildability and compliance.
* Following drawing standards to produce consistent, well‑structured outputs.
* Acting as a key part of a friendly, experienced project team – trusted, challenged, and valued beyond just a name on a drawing.
You'll need
* Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D essential) and familiarity with Revit/BIM.
* Experience producing commercial design work, ideally in MEP, fire & security, or similar fields.
* A hands‑on approach and good problem‑solving instincts.
* The ability to pass an enhanced DBS check.
* Experience or knowledge of fire and security system design is desirable but not essential – we can support the right person to learn on the job if you bring the core CAD skills and practical thinking.
