JOB DESCRIPTION: Electrical Project Manager / Engineer
OVERVIEW OF ROLE: To effectively and successfully manage multiple projects to completion within agreed budgets and timescales. To manage site based teams focused on the delivery of M&E projects in a positive and effective manner. To provide a clear, focused service that exceeds reasonable customer expectations, to retain the existing customer base and to promote the company with a view to increasing business wherever possible.
We are seeking interest from candidates who have at least 2 years relevant experience in a similar role.
However, we would also be keen to hear from candidates who have a relevant electrical trade / academic background that are looking to further their career
REPORTING TO: Directors & Operations Manager
HOURS OF WORK: Full Time, generally Monday – Friday, 8am- 4.30pm, with additional hours as per the needs of the business and in the fulfilment of your role.
DUTIES:
Project Management
* Successfully manage any contract or project from commencement to completion, Including all aspects of resourcing the task from labour, materials and plant required, taking full cognisance of budgets, margin, and cost.
* Attend meetings to monitor and report on site progress, resolving any ad-hoc technical queries or variations.
* Monitor and report on project costs continually against budgets, bring to attention of your line manager any budget concerns as early as possible.
* Complete monthly reporting on all projects to maintain an overview of financial, quality and safety to ensure the business is reacting to internal and external challenges.

People Management
o Responsible for managing multiple teams of operatives on a range of projects. Including but not limited to managing their workload, addressing any quality or technical issues, and monitoring their progress.
o Manage and monitor performance of site-based teams and ensure adhering to RAMS and safe systems of work.
o Provide leadership and direction to mechanical and electrical team members both on a technical and commercial level.
Commercial Awareness
o Monitor progress of secured work packages and review against resources and identifying in as far as advance as possible where there is scope for new or further Business work streams.
o Bring any potential new business opportunities to the attention of the management team.
o Monitor existing customer relationships.
Material Procurement
o Create material and plant lists for the buyer, assess supplier quotations and review prior to ordering
o Review and sign off higher value orders for projects and support others in successful procurement practices
Contract Valuations
o Carry out interim valuations of work as required on each project.
o Provide operations manager and accounts team with payment due dates and values.
Subcontractor Management
o Produce detailed sub-contract orders in the agreed format for projects.
o Complete sub-contractor reviews, monitoring quality, price, approach and H&S.
o Monitor and manage sub-contract packages on site, control programme, quality and H&S performance of subcontractor and co-ordinate with other trades as required.
o Review and verify Sub Contractor applications for payment
o Manage valuable sub-contractor relationships to ensure they contribute positively to the success of the business.
Site Surveys or Meetings
o Survey potential works at sites.
o Carry out visits on existing sites as required by clients. meetings
o Complete regular progress reports.
Renumeration:
o Salary - £37,500.00-£45,000.00 per year
