Nurse Practitioner

We are looking for a Nurse Practitioner or Paramedic Practitioner to join our practitioner team in the Northeast Essex Community Hospitals. This covers both Clacton and Harwich Hospital inpatient wards. Our wards are both modern and spacious and are supported by established nursing and therapy teams.
The team consists of Nurse Practitioners with speciality doctor support. You will be working autonomously to care for patients across our three in-patient wards.
The role includes assessment, diagnosis, treatment, review, discharge support, Advanced Care Planning, Palliative and End-of-Life care.
Main duties of the job
Working autonomously, completing: holistic assessments / interpretation of results / treatment / advice resulting in discharge or onward referral of patients as appropriate. This requires a wide range of expertise underpinned by competency based framework and includes requesting x-rays and liaison with ward doctor or acute hospital for interpretation and prescribing when appropriate.
You will utilise relevant training and experience in the assessment, diagnosis and management of a wide range of health conditions, also to maintain competency and knowledge base.
You will exercise a high degree of personal and professional autonomy and critical thinking and provide health promotion advice to patients.
You will be expected to contribute to protecting vulnerable children and adults.
You will act as a mentor to junior staff/DPP.
You should show a positive commitment to the training and assessment of all nurse learners / junior staff in the clinical areas and facilitate programmes for learners.
Maintain high standards of care in accordance with NMC/HCPC Code of Professional

Experience
* Experience of working autonomously in managing patient care, be able to assess clinical conditions and use correct pathways to obtain an effective outcome
* Experience of managing a team
Qualifications
* Clinical registration with certified body. E.g NMC, HCPC
* Nurse Practitioner qualification e.g. Emergency Nurse Practitioner/ Autonomous Practice, and to include Consultation & Diagnostics/Minor Injuries/Minor Illness or equivalent, and include interpretation of x-ray
* Non-Medical Prescribing
* Preparation for Mentorship [eg ENB 998] or equivalent
* IRMER Certificate
* Evidence of recent CPD / post-graduate study
* Additional registration [Mental Health]
