Location: Brentford FC main offices and training/match locations

Salary: £18.49/hour

We are seeking an innovative and progressive GK coach to join our women’s football department in a part-time role (approx. 12 hours per week). The role leads on all aspects of training and preparation for our First Team and B Team goalkeepers, with a support role in talent identification, tracking and recruitment of GKs, and helping to build a longer-term strategy for our women’s football pathway.

The women’s first team gained promotion to Tier 5 for the 2025/26 season, with matches typically on Sunday afternoons. The ideal candidate will excel in session design, collaborate with the head coach to plan and deliver practices that maximise technical and tactical GK preparation, foster problem solving and decision making, and drive intensity appropriate to match demands. Off the pitch, the role requires proactivity, leadership, and high standards in planning and delivery.

Main Accountabilities

* In collaboration with the head coach, lead the planning and delivery of GK-focused content in evening training sessions for the club’s newly promoted women’s first team.
* Prepare detailed training session plans in line with the club’s coaching philosophy and style of play.
* Provide clear guidance to B Team GK coaches to align GK delivery across the women’s teams.
* Contribute to squad selection and lead GK matchday warm-ups for the first team in competitive fixtures and friendlies (typically Sunday afternoons).
* Engage with head coaches to question, challenge and refine playing style and team selection; act as a sounding board to encourage healthy debate.
* Collaborate with the first team interdisciplinary team to develop GK management, aiming to improve player development and team performance.
* Build positive performance relationships with players, motivate them to reach potential, and drive individual and team performance to win games.
* Assist the Head Coach in tactical analysis of GK performance.
* Support the implementation of GK-specific IDPs in line with IDP processes and timelines, involving parents where appropriate.
* Maintain strong performance relationships with Brentford FC Women’s and Brentford FC CST staff.
* Attend all first team matches, lead GK warm ups, provide position-specific feedback, and support team preparation and performance.
* Work with the Head Coach and Women’s Football Consultant to progress self-development opportunities and priority development areas.
* Support recruitment planning and squad depth management with the Head Coach, Recruitment Lead and Women’s Football Consultant;
* Review players for potential B-team and/or first team recruitment when required.
* Support connectivity between the Brentford FC Women’s/CST pathway and the B team, promoting development and meeting individual needs.
* Support operations to manage GK staffing across the women’s teams.
* Maintain up-to-date records of GK training sessions and game time in club systems.
* Attend CPD events and contribute to the club’s style of play and evolving game model principles and training methodologies.
* Raise safeguarding concerns through the appropriate channels with the safeguarding team.

Person Specification

Essential:

* UEFA B Licence Coaching certificate (outfield)
* UEFA Goalkeeping B Diploma
* Experience working with senior female GK’s in a competitive environment
* Experience working within an interdisciplinary team
* FA Safeguarding Children certificate
* Emergency First Aid in Football certificate

Desirable:

* UEFA A Licence Coaching Certificate
* UEFA Goalkeeping A Diploma
* FA Advanced Youth Award
* FA Talent ID qualifications
* Experience working with male GK’s in a competitive environment
* Experience in player development with male/female players
* Experience with Kitman Labs, Hudl and Veo
* Good IT skills
