The Architectural Design Technician will report into the Architectural Design Manager. The role requires you to manage the production of accurate sites layouts and House types to in-house Technical teams for development. This role is will be based in Birmingham and will offer a competitive salary, and excellent benefits.
Key tasks will include:.
* Provide architectural support and technical guidance for regional teams
* Preparation of working drawings and ancillary details along with bespoke units
* Register, resolve and monitor where appropriate site queries from production management to enable progressive product development
* Design economically and understand the commercial aspects of design decisions
* All designs to be compliant with Building Regulations, local Planning Authority requirements and CDM implications considered
* Co-ordinate and manage the issue of technical documentation
* Commission, coordinate and check various specialist suppliers designs and integrate their requirements into the working drawing packages
* Implements new design ideas and methods and that enhance the reputation of St Modwen and the product
* Establish and enforce quality and standards in schemes and maintain the good image of the company
* Manages the flow of information including drawings, design plans, to the in-house technical team so that they have all the documentation they need for the build, when they need it
Skills Required
* Relevant degree or similar level technical qualification e.g. Architectural Technologist, Architecture, Urban Design
* Significant experience in volume residential design
* Excellent knowledge of Building regulations and NHBC legislation
* Excellent knowledge of Health and safety/CDM regulations
* Competent user of Autodesk Revit software
* Planning, organising and prioritising skills
* Full UK driving licence
