Injection Moulding Lead Setter

Day Shift (8-5 Monday - Friday)
Type - Permanent
Salary - £35,000
Location - Lancashire
Responsibilities - Lead Setter
Oversee and carry out efficient injection moulding machine setups and tool changes
Ensure machines are running to cycle time, optimizing for efficiency and output
Lead and mentor a team of setters, tool slingers, and apprentices
Allocate daily tasks and provide clear instructions to the team
Monitor team performance and support training and development plans
Work with production management to improve working practices and processes
Accurately record downtime, tool change reasons, and scrap removal processes
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
Ensure team compliance with health & safety regulations and PPE requirements
Support production targets and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements - Lead Setter
4-5 years' experience as a setter in injection moulding (or similar manufacturing environment)
Experience leading or mentoring team members, with knowledge of performance management
Strong mechanical and engineering knowledge
Proactive and hands-on with excellent problem-solving skills
Good communication, organisational, and leadership abilities
Confident working under pressure and meeting production targets
Accountable, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious
Familiar with logging production data and downtime accurately
Desirable: Relevant engineering or manufacturing qualification (e.g. IMT L3, NVQ L2, Engineering Apprenticeship)
