Residential Child Care Worker
Location: Derby

Contract Type: Temporary (3 months)
Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week (07:00 – 14:00)
Salary: £16.65 per hour (Umbrella)
About the Role: We are seeking a Residential Child Care Worker to join Derby City Council on a temporary basis. The role involves providing high-quality care and support to children within a residential setting, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and development.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver day-to-day care for children in a residential setting.
Support children’s emotional, social, and educational development.
Maintain accurate records and reports on children’s progress.
Work closely with colleagues, families, and external agencies.
Ensure compliance with safeguarding and health & safety standards.Experience & Knowledge
Previous experience in residential childcare or a similar role.
Understanding of child development and safeguarding principles.
Knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice in children’s services.Skills & Competencies
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with children and colleagues.
Resilience, patience, and adaptability in challenging situations.
Team player with good organisational skills.Additional Requirements
Enhanced DBS check required.
