Job summary
Please note this job is part time (15 hours per week), based at West Middlesex Hospital.
Works closely with the Lead and Principal Technicians to manage and develop operational aspects of technical services.
Ensures services are provided safely, efficiently, and effectively, adhering to local, national, and Regional QA standards, as well as good manufacturing practice principles.
Contributes to monitoring and managing performance and quality within the technical services unit and for services provided to the cancer specialty.
Main duties of the job
1. Assist in managing workload for sterile (cytotoxic reconstitution) and other technical services to maintain safety, responsiveness, and patient focus.
2. Liaise with Chemotherapy Day Unit staff to support workflow.
3. Maintain effective communication with the Principal Pharmacist, Principal Technician, and Senior Technician to ensure compliance with GMP, section 10 requirements, Health and Safety legislation, COSHH, and Trust Medicines Policy.
4. Ensure all legal and procedural requirements are met and records are maintained.

Person Specification
Skills and Knowledge (Essential)
* Knowledge equivalent to Level 3 NVQ
* Training in hospital environment
* Registered pharmacy technician
* Experience in hospital pharmacy, including aseptic compounding
* Good communication skills
* Knowledge of EU GMP and aseptic/cytotoxic dispensing principles with accuracy
Experience (Essential)
* Time management
* Computer literacy
* Mathematical skills for dose calculations
* Team player, initiative, self-motivation
* Ability to perform physical duties (lifting, standing, working in isolator, cleaning)
Desirable
* Supervisory experience
* Experience with pharmacy systems (Wellsky, Chemocare)
* Completion of HEE or LPET courses
