We are seeking an enthusiastic, organised, and highly motivated diagnostic Radiographer with excellent communication, management, and leadership skills to provide professional leadership for the CT department across 3 sites including St James's, Leeds General Infirmary, and Seacroft CDC. They will be a compassionate leader responsible for delivering an efficient, safe, effective, and high-quality radiographic imaging service. The Lead Radiographer will line manage Team Managers, Radiographers, Assistant Practitioners, and assistants. They will be line managed by the Head of Profession. Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be responsible for the professional leadership and management of all CT Staff. The post holder is the lead and point of contact for advice and expertise, responsible for the care and professional practice delivered by the Radiographic workforce.
The post holder will be a state-registered Radiographer with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) and will work within codes of practice and professional guidelines. As a professional clinical manager and a member of the radiology management team, they will be responsible for leading, developing, and managing all resources (human, physical, and financial) for CT within Radiology across multiple sites in the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (LTHT).
The post holder has accountability for delivering a safe, effective, efficient, and high-quality service appropriate for all users in accordance with the Trust's strategic plans and operational policies. They are accountable for service-related targets, legislation, and national frameworks.
Postholders at this level are expected to have significant knowledge of the specific modality, including technical and operational issues. They will provide specialist advice and be consulted on a wide range of issues arising in their modality, ensuring the highest standards of technical, clinical, and operational practice.

Job responsibilities
The Radiology Service provides diagnostic and treatment services for approximately 600,000 patients annually. The service includes several imaging modalities, each with up to 100 staff, delivering high-quality clinical radiology services. It also includes the Leeds and Wakefield breast screening programme, which screens 180,000 women per cycle.
The Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust provides tertiary and secondary care across a wide geographical area. Radiology services are provided across several sites, and the post holder will be required to travel across the trust.
The post holder will be a state-registered Radiographer with HCPC registration, working within professional guidelines. As a clinical manager and radiology management team member, they will lead, develop, and manage resources for imaging modalities or service areas across multiple sites within LTHT.
They will be accountable for delivering safe, effective, efficient, and high-quality services aligned with the Trust's strategic and operational policies, service targets, legislation, and national frameworks.
Postholders are expected to have significant knowledge of their modality, including technical and operational issues. They will provide specialist advice, ensure high standards of practice, and implement principles of clinical governance locally. They will manage staff and patient care daily, working in accordance with Trust policies on staff management.
The post holder will be easily identifiable to patients, providing strong leadership, support, and advice to patients, families, and carers.
They will collaborate closely with medical and senior management staff within radiology and externally within the trust and WYATT.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* BSc or equivalent in diagnostic radiography.
* Current HCPC registration.
* Postgraduate qualifications at M level or equivalent.
* Evidence of leading service development.
* Recognised management qualification.
