Specialists in providing engineered above ground drainage and water supply systems, Polypipe Building Services leverages offsite fabrication to design and deliver solutions to mechanical and public health engineers, M&E contractors, and local authorities. Polypipe Building Services houses well-known industry brand Terrain and has been delivering systems to commercial, high-rise residential, healthcare, education, and leisure projects for over 50 years.
Role overview: This role supports the Advantage service offering with a critical focus on customer service delivery to internal colleagues & external customers.
Providing technical support services to the identified product areas such as preparing full working designs, take-offs, and quotations.
Key Responsibilities for Drainage & Water Supply:
* Designing using AutoCAD, Inventor, and Revit Software
* Producing 2D & 3D drawings as required
* Using the company’s bespoke programs to generate estimates and quotations
* Handling technical queries for all identified product ranges satisfactorily
* Providing customer telephone support
* Supporting the external sales team and wider technical team by attending customer sites
* Supporting quality and sales with customer complaints
* Attending pre-site commencement meetings as required
* Assisting in developing new and existing product ranges with NPD and R&D
* Supporting the Advantage manufacturing team
Skills And Requirements:
* Excellent AutoCAD, Inventor, and Revit skills
* A qualification in a design/engineering discipline to HNC or equivalent experience
* Knowledge of Polypipe standards and processes
* Understanding of engineering principles related to commercial above ground drainage and water supply
* Knowledge of manufacturing principles, British standards, and processes across the Advantage department
* Computer literacy in Windows and MS Office
* Effective communication skills within the department and with other departments (face-to-face and by phone)
* Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
* Advanced product knowledge
Working Hours & Benefits:
* Monday - Thursday, flexi start between 8:00-9:00 am, finishing between 5:00-6:00 pm; Fridays 8:30 am-3:00 pm
