Health Care Support Worker - Bellevue Ward

We are looking for a caring and motivated Health Care Support Worker to help provide mental health services to patients within our 6 bedded Adult Mental Health female Unit, Bellevue Ward at St Cadocs Hospital. The position will be focusing on the direct needs of service users currently suffering a complex mental health problem and under the supervision of senior practitioners will assist in the provision of care and treatment.

We have the option for flexible working patterns, including the option for long day shifts to meet the needs of the service.

Currently we are unable to provide certificates of sponsorship for this role as it does not meet the Home Office's criteria. Anyone requiring a certificate of sponsorship is therefore unable to be shortlisted and interviewed


Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to act at all times within the guidelines of the patient\'s care plan and within the supervision of senior support and or professional in charge.

Person Specification


Skills

* Able to work as part of a professional team
* Able to communicate effectively using reassurance, persuasion and tact with patients
* Ability to form positive therapeutic relationships with service users
* Basic IT skills
* Good motivational skills


Experience

* Meets all essential criteria as per attached job description/person specification
* Experience of working paid or voluntary with people in the provision of social, mental or similar care to people who require assistance in their every day life
* Supporting service users in therapeutic activities, observing and evaluating effects of activity on individuals
* Recording of information to support the assessment of health, needs and medical assistance


Qualifications

* Meets all essential criteria as per attached job description/person specification
* Attendance in other in house training
* Equivalent competencies achieved and evidenced through accredited courses or
