Our client, a prominent organisation in the defence and security industry, is currently seeking a Charge Design Engineer to join their Naval Ships business unit on a contract basis. This role is based at their Glascoed site, with hybrid working arrangements allowing for remote work one day a week. The successful candidate will be working within a condensed hours schedule (37 hours over 4 days). The duration of the contract is 12 months.
Key Responsibilities:
Designing charge systems for naval ships, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions for defence applications.
Conducting detailed chemical engineering analyses and assessments to support charge design processes.
Preparing and maintaining technical documentation, including design specifications and reports.
Ensuring project deliverables are completed on time and within scope.
Providing technical support during the manufacturing and testing phases.
Participating in project reviews and providing input on engineering design improvements.
Maintaining high security standards, adhering to UK Eyes only/BPSS security protocols.
Job Requirements:
Experience in chemical engineering, particularly within the defence or security sector.
Strong knowledge of charge design processes and relevant defence standards.
Ability to conduct detailed engineering analyses and assessments.
Proficiency in preparing technical documentation and reports.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
Security clearance: UK Eyes only/BPSS.
