Location and Setting
Swap the stresses of urban living for the relaxed Highland way of life in Fort William, at the foot of Britain’s highest mountain and the ‘outdoor capital of the UK’. The role operates across two hospitals: The Belford Hospital, Fort William, and Broadford Hospital, Skye.
Job Summary
You will be responsible for participating in the day‑to‑day running of the Ultrasound Scanning service at both The Belford Hospital and Broadford Hospital, working in conjunction with existing sonographers and providing cover for both sites as required.
Key Responsibilities
* Participate in the day‑to‑day running of the Ultrasound Scanning service at The Belford Hospital.
* Participate in the day‑to‑day running of the Ultrasound Scanning service at Broadford Hospital.
* Collaborate with existing sonographers to deliver high‑quality imaging services.
* Provide coverage for both hospitals as required.
Qualifications
* HCPC‑registered radiographer or equivalent professional qualification.
* Postgraduate CASE accredited qualification in medical ultrasound.
* Demonstrated clinical competence across a range of ultrasound examinations.
* Experience in General, Gynaecology and small parts (Vascular and MSK desirable).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proactive and collaborative approach to service delivery and staff development.

* Effective 1st April 2026: Agenda for Change full‑time working week reduced to 36 hours with an increased hourly rate.
