The opportunity
Our objective is to continue being the market leader for remediation within the Financial Services sector. We collaborate and work closely with teams across EY, developing technology and regulatory risk-based solutions for our clients.
Your key responsibilities
As a Senior Consultant within the Remediation Team your typical engagements include:
1. Supporting firms undertaking past business reviews and remediation programmes
2. Supporting firms respond to actions agreed with the FCA including Section 166 reviews
3. Supporting firms with issue identification and health checks. This could include assessing the quality of advice given by a firm in relation to financial products, assessing a firm’s systems, or validating the measures taken by a firm to correct issues
4. Working as part of a team support the design and/or execution of remediation activities
5. Product/ file reviews and/ or quality assurance support
You will:
6. Contribute to the articulation of EY findings, conclusions and recommendations in writing or verbally
7. Provide input into the application of regulatory standards and support the development of solutions to resolve complex regulatory risks and issues
8. Support engagement leaders to deliver key projects on a day-to-day basis
9. Support engagement planning, management, and leading small teams in engagements
10. Work effectively as a team member sharing responsibility, providing support and updating senior members on progress
11. Help build proposals in response to new client opportunities

Skills and Attributes for Success:
13. Knowledge and experience of regulation and/ or remediation and a clear understanding of the strategic implications of regulation
14. Outstanding communication skills, displays business acumen and has the ability to work with a commercial mindset and challenging approach
15. Is highly organised, methodical and structured whilst flexible to adjust to multiple demands and has robust project management skills and experience under tight timelines.
16. Is proactive, anticipating and focused. Is willing to take initiatives and propose solutions and has the ability to get things done
17. Ability to work in a client facing and consulting role, with the ability to build networks and strong relationships with clients
18. Has strong ability to work and team with a wide range of colleagues across the business, supporting them and promoting a collaborative culture
To qualify for the role, you must have some or all of the following:
19. An understanding of financial markets and regulatory standards and an ability to translate these into client solutions
20. Sound technical knowledge of financial products and / or customer-facing regulated activities ( complaint handling)
21. Strong academic background, ideally to a degree level or equivalent
22. FPC or QCF Level 4 qualified (preferable but not required)
Ideally you will also have
23. Strong written and verbal communication skills for report writing and client presentations
24. Ability to prioritise and challenge
25. Ability to work in a consulting role, with the ability to build networks and relationships internally and externally
