Resident Doctor, Obs and Gynae

This is an ideal opportunity for an F3/ST1 or equivalent to work and gain experience in a medium sized District General Hospital with tertiary services, including a level 3 neonatal unit and an Endometriosis Centre.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will participate in the junior‑grade doctors rota covering all aspects of obstetrics and gynaecology, including labour ward, elective caesarean section lists, emergency gynaecology, elective gynaecology theatres and out‑of‑hours cover.
Job responsibilities
The post is suitable for doctors who have completed Foundation Training or an equivalent programme and provides excellent opportunities for clinical experience and professional development. This is a 6‑month fixed‑term post, with potential for extension depending on departmental needs.
Postholders will be encouraged to attend departmental teaching sessions. Typical duties include ward work, participation in ward rounds and multidisciplinary meetings, theatre and outpatient clinics, and participation in the obstetrics and gynaecology on‑call rotas. The post includes out‑of‑hours commitments and operates on full shift rotas, with senior medical supervision available at all times.
Person Specification
* Full GMC registration, MBBS or equivalent GMC‑recognised qualification, MRCOG Part 1
* Understanding and/or knowledge of NHS systems and practices.
* Demonstrable experience equivalent to completion of Foundation Training or equivalent by commencement of post.
* Good leadership skills.
