Role: Project Engineer
Location: Dungeness, UK.
Contract: 24 Months
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support the delivery of engineering projects within a highly regulated environment. You will be responsible for design, execution, and technical oversight across the full project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
* Define project requirements and stakeholder needs
* Support Project Execution Plans (design, safety case, commissioning)
* Develop engineering designs and technical solutions
* Produce and approve technical specifications
* Manage design and modification activities
* Oversee contractor work, risk assessments, and method statements
* Provide technical supervision during construction and commissioning
* Ensure compliance with engineering, safety, and quality standards
* Support handover to operations and maintain configuration control
* Conduct root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities
Essential Skills & Experience
* HNC/HND/Degree (NQF Level 5/6 or equivalent)
* Mechanical or Electrical engineering background
* Experience within industrial or process plant environments
* Nuclear or conventional project engineering experience
* Strong understanding of engineering standards and compliance
Desirable
* Knowledge of safety rules and risk assessment methodologies
* Understanding of site licence and quality management systems
* CDM Designer experience
* Contract and project delivery experience
* Membership of a professional engineering body
* Chartered Engineer status
