The Evident AI Index forms the basis of our benchmarking products, which help companies to understand their ranking in relation to peers and to accelerate their AI strategy. The Client Services team, sitting at the core of Evident's value proposition to clients, is responsible for delivering bespoke benchmarking analysis to clients and shaping the strategy of our benchmarking products.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced data analyst, research manager or product owner to own the methodology and delivery of our Evident AI Index for Banking. An Index Owner at Evident is responsible for deeply understanding the sector they work in, owning our AI index methodology, and ensuring the successful delivery of our Index products through high quality data and research.

Reporting to the Banking Sector Lead, you will work closely with our Research and Data teams to identify trends in AI adoption and create the metrics that allow us to quantify the progress of an entire industry.

This role would suit someone who has experience in running long term research projects that involve desktop research, working with a data team, and implementing good data quality practices.

Key Responsibilities

* Index Production:
Lead the annual production of the Evident AI Banking Index, ensuring its accuracy, high-quality and timely publication.
* Critically assess Index results to ensure they accurately reflect AI adoption progress in Banking.
* Lead the team that provides second-line quality assurance of all data inputs going into the index, ensuring integrity and reliability.
* Document the index production process to ensure traceability of results
* Work closely with the Data team to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of the necessary data during index production.
* Provide timely inputs to the Intelligence team, to enable them writing Index related reports e.g. Key Findings Report
* Index Delivery:
Join Index diagnostic meetings and other client meetings as required by the Client Delivery team
* Provide subject matter expertise on Index methodology and results questions from third parties and clients, as required by the Client Delivery team
* Index Methodology Improvement & Expansion:
Lead the team that builds and maintains the Index ranking model
* Propose, test, execute and document on improvements to the Index methodology and data, incorporating feedback from clients, the Managing Director of Banking, the Client Delivery team and other teams.
* Document agreed changes to the Index methodology and processes
* Work closely with the Data team to collect new or improved data to refine indicators and test methodology improvements.
* Execute plans to expand or build new indices to cover more banks, in coordination with the Index Benchmarking Product Lead
* Project Management & Collaboration:
Own the index production and development process and the execution of the plan for continuous improvement.
* Provide input on Index-related topics to the Intelligence and Outcomes benchmarking teams

Core Skills

* 5+ years of research, project management or consulting experience, such as:
* Conducting research and analysis about financial services and emerging technologies at a market research company or media company.
* Consulting for financial services companies on topics such as AI and digital transformation.
* Working at a think tank, in policy research or in academia.
* Experience in Banking and/or Financial Services.
* Strong qualitative research skills with previous experience of desktop research and working with survey or third party datasets
* Excellent attention to detail
* Strong quantitative analysis skills and experience using large datasets in spreadsheets, Python and/or SQL
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience working with senior stakeholders.
* Project management experience, including leading small teams
* Comfortable defining a project, setting timelines and running research and feedback meetings.
* Experience working in multidisciplinary teams with data scientists, data analysts and engineers and/or product teams.
* An interest in technology, digitalisation and/or AI (professional or personal).

Nice to have

* Understanding of the key issues facing leadership teams in financial services on topics related to artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies.
* Experience using visualisation tools such as Omni or similar.
