Impact Recruitment are currently working with a well-established machinery manufacturer based in Wellingborough who are looking to recruit a Machine Assembler / Builder to join their growing engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on the assembly of bespoke, high-precision machinery while gaining exposure to customer installations both in the UK and overseas. Location: Wellingborough Hours: Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours per week Salary: £35,000 - £38,000 per annum (Negotiable DOE) Bonus Contract: Permanent Duties: Assemble and fit a range of machine components including bearings, seals, pulleys, gearboxes, pneumatics, hydraulics, servo motors, and associated mechanical systems Read and interpret mechanical assembly drawings, engineering schematics, and technical documentation Install and commission hydraulic, pneumatic, and lubrication systems Use a variety of workshop equipment and hand tools to complete assembly work to a high standard Conduct machine testing and inspections prior to dispatch Support machine installations, upgrades, servicing, and repairs at customer sites across the UK and internationally Inspect components using precision measuring equipment and assist with spare parts preparation Work closely with engineering and production teams to resolve technical issues and improve build processes Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support project delivery deadlinesThe ideal candidate must: Have previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Machine Builder, Assembly Technician, or similar engineering role Be confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings and assembly instructions Have experience working with hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, motors, and mechanical assemblies Be comfortable using workshop equipment and hand tools Hold a valid UK Driving Licence and passport, with the flexibility to travel when required Be capable of working independently and as part of a team Have strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to engineering challengesDesirable: Electrical assembly or fault-finding knowledge Forklift Truck Licence Previous experience installing or commissioning machinery on customer sites Benefits: Competitive salary with negotiable package depending on experience Service and production bonus schemes Opportunity for UK and international travel Varied and technically challenging projects Stable permanent position within a growing engineering business Supportive and experienced engineering team Ongoing training and development opportunitiesIf this role sounds of interest to you then please apply with an up-to-date CV.
